The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is a special education law that identifies categories of special education, each with its own requirements.
To qualify for special education services, the student must meet two criteria:
1- Have one of the identified disabilities
2- The disability must adversely effect his or her educational performance
